Crazy Taxi
Crazy Taxi is a thrilling racing game brought developed by Sega. It kicked off the Crazy Taxi series and made its debut in arcades back in 1999. In the game, you take on the role of a taxi driver, racing against the clock to pick up customers and get them to their destinations as fast as you can.
Passengers can ask you to drop them at standard locales like the police station, train terminal, and scenic overlook, but they may ask you to take them to places like Pizza Hut, Tower Records, the FILA sportswear store, the Levi's store, or KFC. Additionally, there are vans cruising around adorned with the WOW! logo. Each of these well-known chains is represented as a location within the game. This inclusion is widely recognised as one of the most blatant uses of product placement in the history of video games.
The arcade game was developed by Hitmaker and was a departure fro, other Sega titles at the time. Running on Sega’s Naomi hardware, the game is fast, bright and loud. One of the things that makes Crazy Taxi so memorable is the incredible licensed soundtrack featuring bands, The Offsrping and Bad Religion.
You certainly can’t miss Crazy Taxi in the arcade with its bright yellow facade, bench seat and 12” sub woofer pumping out the sounds.
